State Authorization to deliver online programming to other states:
Delta State provides distance education programs and coursework to out-of-state students under the authority of an agreement with the Mississippi Commission on College Accreditation (MCCA). Mississippi, through its membership in the regional compact (Southern Regional Education Board – SREB) has joined the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA). SARA provides a reciprocity agreement that allows each member state the right to provide online education to residents of other member states without additional authorization required. All states are not currently members of SARA; Delta State applies separately to the state organization for approval to deliver online programming to residents of those non-member states.

Student Resources
Delta State University has a complaint process in place for undergraduate and graduate students, whether in traditional or distance education courses or programs. In addition, Delta State University affirms the MCCA process to review and appropriately act on student complaints in compliance with state laws and regulations and 34 CFR 600.9, the state authorization regulations implementing Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. Beyond the institutional complaint process, a student may continue an appeal to the MCCA or may contact the appropriate agency in the student’s home state (See “States” tab at NC-SARA). Delta State University is accredited to award baccalaureate, master, specialist, and doctoral degrees by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges.
